Information for Teachers

Science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) subject teachers should highlight the relevance of STEM subjects for a wide range of future career paths and all subject teachers should emphasise the importance of succeeding in English and maths and should also link their own curriculum areas with careers.

Possible ideas to engage your classes with careers could be:

• Show a short video clip as a starter activity
• Show BBC bitesize careers, linking the relevance of lessons for possible future careers
• Discuss careers linked to specific parts of your curriculum
• Set a homework task to research different careers related to your subject
• Discuss/explore the growth industries within the Liverpool City Region
